5 Things – Bama Beatdown Breakdown

What did we learn from the Bama Beatdown of Wisconsin in Tuscaloosa?

1 – Wisconsin’s secondary will lose them games.

Ty Simpson is not an exceptional quarterback. Against Wisconsin, he threw for 382 yards, 4 TDs, and 0 picks. That’s a problem. Wisconsin’s secondary made it easy for him all day long. Teams that can throw it – Oregon, Ohio State, Illinois, Washington – will score at will against the Badgers.

2 – Wisconsin’s run defense will win them games.

Wisconsin is now 4th in the country in rushing yards allowed per game. I feel comfortable saying the D-Line is fixed. Bama was held to an abysmal 72 yards on the ground despite leading for the entire game. Teams that rely on the run to make their offense go, Wisconsin can dominate. Iowa, Minnesota, and Indiana look a lot more manageable now.

3 – Danny isn’t ready, bring back Billy.

I’ve seen enough. QB Danny O’Neil panicked far too often. He would make his 1st read, they wouldn’t be open, and then he’d either check it down or get sacked. The Badgers need a guy who can get to their 2nd and 3rd downfield reads. Bring back Billy.

Week 3 Preview + WOF Picks ATS

What to watch this Saturday. The ACC and SEC are in the spotlight. There’s another After Dark Game worth staying up for.

What is WOF up to this Weekend?

WOF is headed to Tuscaloosa!!

We won’t have time to catch any afternoon games because we will be on the road after the Wisconsin at Alabama game, but we’ll probably catch some of the night games. Or, if Wisconsin wins somehow, we might not be in any condition to head north on schedule.

Down to Dixieland – Wisco at Bama Preview

Does Wisconsin even have a chance?

For the first time ever, Wisconsin is playing AT Alabama. The 3 previous meetings were twice in Camp Randall and once in Jerry’s World. This is a once in a lifetime roadtrip. If only this Badgers team resembled one from the Alverez era. Where the program is right now, no one is giving Wisconsin a chance.

Injuries

The Game is 3 days away, but it is already defined by injuries.

Wisconsin Injuries

There are 2 big ones.

QB – Billy Edwards Jr. – Knee sprain in Week 1
When Billy went down in week 1, there were fears the 2025 season was a wash. But there was a certainty that the Bama game wasn’t even worth playing. Then Danny came out in week 2 and was nearly perfect. 85% completion, 3 TDs, 283 yards, and 1 INT that wasn’t his fault.

When I went to …

Football is Here – Week 1 Preview

Three Top 10 Matchups. Intriguing non-conference showdowns. And inevitably, some inexplicable upsets.

What’s Happening this Weekend?

WOF attended the Badger home opener on Thursday night. It looked like old school Wisconsin football in the worst way: painful on offense, and suffocating dominance on defense.

Opening weekend is 5 straight days of college football, and there is at least one interesting game every day. With 64 Power 4 programs in action, I’ll watch what I can, but there’s just too much going on to see everything.

Friday Night

7:00 PM CST: Competitive Non-Con Oddballs

Georgia Tech (-4.5) at Colorado – (ESPN)

This game is sneaky interesting. Georgia Tech is a contender in the ACC, which makes them a contender for the playoff. Colorado lost Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders, but Deion is still there, and they were one game away from the Big 12 title game in 2024. The winner still has a lot of work to do, but the loser is probably going to underperform their 2025 expectations. Personally, I lean Tech because I believe in QB Haynes King and Coach Brent Key.  GT …

The Best Traditions in College Football

What makes College Football fun, weird, and different from the NFL? Ridiculous traditions that fans don’t even know why they exist, half the time. Here are the 10 best traditions to get you excited for the 2026 season.

1 – IowaThe Hawkeye Wave

Iowa’s football stadium is located across the street from the University’s children’s hospital. After the 1st quarter ends, players and fans alike turn and wave to the kids watching from windows of the upper floors. This has to be the most wholesome tradition in all of sports.

2 – AuburnRolling Toomer’s Corner

What is the correct way to celebrate a victory in football? There are many right answers, but I think Auburn fans have a pretty good one. Toomer’s Corner is a location on campus, and after every victory, the trees on the corner get “rolled.” I guess that’s what they call TP-ing down south.

3 – WisconsinJump Around

Plenty of traditions involve the fans singing a song together, but how many actually get 80,000 to do vigorous exercise for 2 minutes? Badger fans may not know all the lyrics to Jump Around, but they do be jumping. Sometimes, so much …

B1G vs Everybody

Ranking the biggest B1G non-conference games of 2025.

12. Notre Dame at Purdue – Week 4

Purdue is the worst team in the Big Ten. This is basically a scrimmage for Notre Dame.

11. Boston College at Michigan State – Week 2

A pair of mediocre teams that have next to zero national intrigue

10. Nebraska vs Cincinnati – Week 1 (Thursday)

New Big 12 vs Old Big 12… at a neutral site in Indianapolis. Eh.

9. Minnesota at Cal – Week 3

Minnesota could be decent, and Cal could be okay. And it’s a “Pac-12 After Daek” game. I’ll tune in.

8. Illinois at Duke – Week 2

Illinois is the most popular sleeper pick in the B1G. They will have to win on the road in week 2 to deserve that level of support

7. Oklahoma State at Oregon – Week 2

This game would be a lot more interesting if OK State wasn’t god awful last year. This is the first game we get to see B1G champ Oregon play against an opponent with a pulse.

6. Utah at UCLA – Week 1

A revival of an OG Pac-12 matchup, that should be competitive, late night, week …

The Official Walk On Fan 2025 NFL Mock Draft

I am attempting to do the impossible: predict the entire 1st round of the 2025 NFL draft. Will I get most of these wrong? Absolutely. Let’s give it a shot anyway.

#1 – Tennessee Titans:

QB Cam Ward – Miami (FL)

Cam Ward is going #1 overall, there is no debate here. In last year’s QB class, he’d fall somewhere between Michael Penix Jr. and Drake Maye.

#2 – Cleveland Browns:

WR/CB Travis Hunter – Colorado

If he were just a WR, Travis would be WR1. If he were just a CB, he’d be in the top 3 and possibly the best one. Instead, he’s both and has the endurance to play over 100 snaps per game. This is the consensus best player in the draft. He walks into the building as WR1 and is likely in the 3rd down package on defense.

#3 – New York Giants:

EDGE Abdul Carter – Penn State

The best EDGE in the draft goes to the Giants. They have Russ and Jamis and can deal with QB farther down the board. This does mean they likely trade away Thibodaux before the season starts.

#4 – New England Patriots:

OT Will Campbell – LSU

Top Four Shake-Up: Walk on Fan’s March 3rd Bracket Update

1 Seeds:

Auburn (2-0), Duke (2-0), Houston (2-0), Tennessee (2-0)

2 Seeds:

Florida (1-1), Michigan State (2-0), St. Johns (2-0), Alabama (1-1)

Finally! A shake-up in the top four seeds. Florida lost an easily winnable game against Georgia, moving them down to a two seed. Tennessee’s buzzer-beater against Alabama moves them up to the one seed line. Otherwise, Auburn, Duke, Houston, Michigan State, and St. John’s had great weeks. The field is starting to get finalized, so expect little movement from here on out.

3 Seeds:

Texas Tech (1-1), Wisconsin (1-1), Iowa State (1-1), Michigan (1-1)

4 Seeds:

 Maryland (1-1), Clemson (2-0), Texas A&M (0-2), Purdue (1-0)

The three seed line had little movement, with all four projected teams going 1-1 with no real outliers. Michigan’s buzzer beater against Maryland moves them up even though they lost to Illinois. Clemson is hot, while Texas A&M is in freefall. Purdue finally stopped their skid, notching a solid win against UCLA. If there is any volatility from this grouping going forward, it’ll be from the conference tournaments that start next week.

5 Seeds:

Kentucky (1-1), Mizzou (1-1), Marquette (2-0), St. Marys (2-0)

6 Seeds:

Arizona (1-1), Louisville (2-0), Kansas (1-1), Oregon (1-0)
